Edisto Community Needs Assessment
The Edisto Island Community Association (EICA) is conducting a needs assessment survey to better understand the challenges faced by all of us living on Edisto. All Edisto Island and Edisto Beach households will be receive a mailing about the needs assessment in early May.
The survey has questions about employment, housing, healthcare, food, and transportation access, as well as basic demographic information. Questions were chosen based on concerns we have heard from many Edisto community members.
There are two ways to complete the survey by May 31, 2023:
Online, by scanning the QR code on the mailer.
By mail, by filling in the survey in the mailer and returning to PO Box 269, Edisto Island SC 29438.
The survey asks questions about your household*, so think about all the people living in your home as you answer. You do not have to answer any questions you don’t feel comfortable answering. The survey is anonymous and voluntary.
We encourage you to participate as the results will be used to create a report to share with all community members, as well as local nonprofits and government service providers. Accurate information helps local organizations better meet community needs, apply for grants or request assistance from government agencies.
The Edisto Senior Center can provide assistance to anyone who needs help reading or filling out the survey. They are located at 8070 Indigo Hill Road and open Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 2 PM.
If you have questions or do not receive a mailer, you can contact EICA at edistoislandcommunity@gmail.com or 843-410-8010 or via Facebook Messenger.
* If this survey has been mailed to a business address, please do not complete it. You can contact EICA directly if you would like to share information related to your business’ experience with any of these issues.
